Levinson Blade Texas
A killer Strat style guitar from Blade guitars. Blade guitars were founded by Gary Levinson in Switzerland in 1987, building traditional styled guitars with a modern edge. In the 90's Blade guitars started building their guitars in Japan - these were made in the Deviser factory; one of the top factories in the country famous for their stringent quality control and reliance on traditional building techniques.
This Texas is an excellent example of a Deviser built blade. A stunning S-type guitar with a perfect blend of vintage and modern features to appeal to a whole host of players. This guitar sports Blades famous Variable Spectrum Control preamp, an active boost that can be adjusted for Bass, Middle and Treble via the 3 trim pots at the back of the guitar.
I've spoken to Blade about this guitar as I was struggling to identify the finish. They confirmed it is an Oil finish only offered on the Texas guitars in late 1992 as a special run. A rare beast!

Our old Blade came to us in need of some serious TLC after years of love! We've refretted the guitar with 2.65mm Jescar frets, installed a brand new VSC-4 preamp (the original was kaput) and given the guitar a good clean and set up.
It shows some age related marks as you would expect from a guitar of this vintage that has been played a lot but it only adds to its charm in our opinion!
