Argus Squeeze Guitar SQG-15
A truly awesome piece of Japanese guitar history. Quick history lesson. Argus guitars were the top brand of Kyowa Shokai, one of the largest musical instrument manufacturers in Japan in the 1980's. Argus guitars were produced alongside Hidesato Shiino, a legendary Japanese guitar builder often dubbed 'the Japanese Leo Fender'. The man was responsible for the legendary Japanese guitar brands such as ESP, H.S Anderson and Vesta Graham.
Our SQG-15 is a very unique and special solid bodied electric guitar. A wild slightly offset silhouette paired with big aggressive horns and a body cutaway at the bottom. It's fair to say we've never seen anything like this before (and we've had some wild guitars in our hands over the years). A premium built instrument sporting some gorgeous gold hardware, A grade wood selection and stunning MOP and Abalone inlays. The attention to detail on the build here is out of this world, everything is considered and eloquently put together with love and care.
The SQG-15 was a whopping 150,000 yen in the early 1980's so you would expect a premium instrument at that money and that's exactly what this is. A premium, rare and special guitar to hold in your hands.

Our old Argus is in incredible age for a guitar of this vintage, it's hardly been played. 100% original excluding 2 pickup screws that have been replaced at some point. The neck pickup cover has also split where it meets the neck (we had no interest in replacing this, as it's original). There's some slight clouding to the finish at the tip of the headstock and it is missing the bottom TRC screw. Freshly set up with a set of D'Addario 10's and ready to go!
